Stem Cell Therapy

This branch of Regenerative Medicine aims to harness the restorative potential of stem cells on diseased, dysfunctional or damaged tissues. Since many painful conditions result directly from these tissue changes, a therapy that addresses the root cause of the pain has promising potential in the field of Pain Medicine. However, stem cell therapy research is still a very young field of medicine, and evidence of its safety and efficacy are yet to be conclusively established.

While the possibilities of stem cell treatment options for chronic pain patients are encouraging, the stem cell applications for painful conditions are not currently TGA approved. Northern Pain Centre is not currently performing stem cell therapy.
