Psychiatry
As part of our comprehensive pain management service, the Northern Pain Centre team offers access to psychiatric consultation. For many people, the experience of chronic pain is complicated by the development of depression and anxiety or other conditions. Sometimes pain problems can also stir up underlying emotional issues. The medication used to treat pain can cause side effects as well or result in over use. In order to optimise treatment and promote recovery, these conditions need to be assessed and treated.
