Dr Claudia Higgs is a Specialist Anaesthetist and Specialist Pain Medicine Physician. Claudia provides individualised evidence-based pain management with the goal of restoring function and improving quality of life. Claudia is interested in all aspects of pain management including minimally invasive procedural pain management techniques.

After finishing her undergraduate medical training at the University of Sydney in 2000, Claudia undertook an extensive period of specialist training both here and overseas. Claudia served for a period as the Director of the Acute Pain Service at Royal North Shore Hospital. Claudia completed her specialist pain medicine training at the Michael J Cousins Pain Management and Research Centre where she had the opportunity to develop advanced skills in all aspects of pain management including procedural pain management.

Claudia combines both local and international techniques with a holistic approach to pain management, carefully considering all contributing factors and working with her patients to collaboratively devise a management plan that may include education, medication management, interventional techniques, physiotherapy and psychology where appropriate.

With her commitment to teaching, lifelong learning and keeping abreast of the latest evidence-based treatments in Pain Management Claudia is committed to delivering expert care for her patients.
