Getting Back to Being You
Pain is a thoroughly unpleasant experience, and persistent pain can lead to feelings of frustration, sadness and isolation, especially when a person with pain feels misunderstood and perhaps even not believed. Often patients describe their pain as “taking over their life” and “being controlled by pain”. Most patients also describe themselves as being at their “wits-end” in trying to find ways to relieve their pain. We sympathise, respect and understand your situation. We have helped many patients to overcome the challenges of living with pain, and find a way back to a fulfilling life.
Our Pain Medicine Specialists and health professionals can share their knowledge, and are aware of the biological, psychological and social impacts of pain on a person. Only after listening to each individual’s experiences with pain can they then help to develop a personalised pain management plan, addressing the biological, psychological and social aspects of that person’s pain journey.
At Northern Private Pain Centre, we do things differently. Each patient is placed in the care of a highly experienced Pain Medicine Specialist Doctor who creates and oversees the individuals Pain Management Plan that may include technologically advanced treatments. As pain is multidimensional, the Pain Medicine Specialist manages a team of expert Physiotherapists, Psychologists and Psychiatrists who collaborate and take a multidisciplinary approach to managing pain.
Our team works together to help our patients effectively:
- Manage pain
- Improve pain relief
- Regain control of their lives
- Enjoy their life, the way they want to live it
